This kit is designed using a combination of several traditional embroidery techniques including silk shading and Jacobean crewelwork. Silk shading is worked on closely woven silk using single strands of cotton embroidery thread and size 12 sharps (embroidery needle). This results in the finest possible finished product. This kit also incorporates stitches traditionally used in Jacobean crewelwork.
About the Artist:
Michelle Agnew is a Canadian artist specializing in hand embroidery. In 2022, she completed her Certificate in Hand Embroidery with the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace, London, and is currently working on completing her diploma.
